Downtown Detroit knows how to party, and there is plenty of reason to look forward to the (hopefully sooner rather than later) arrival of spring. Shortly following Packzi Day, Autorama, and just a few weeks prior to Opening Day festivities, the greenest of traditions will take over Michigan Avenue next Sunday.

The 32nd Annual Corktown Races will bring thousands of runners and revelers to the historic district, coinciding with the 56th Annual Detroit St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Throughout its history, the running spectacle has grown from a mostly athletic club contest into a family-friendly fun run, a change Race Director Doug Kurtis attributes largely to word of mouth and outstanding volunteers.
